Nandalala is written and directed by the talented director Mysskin who also dons the lead role. Nandala also has model turned actress Snigdha Akolkar and Ashwath Ram in pivotal roles.

The movie has a heart wrenching storyline. Mysskin plays the role of a mentally challenged person. When

Mysskin had approached few actors to take up the lead, none accepted just for the reason that it seemed highly challenging. That’s how Mysskin decided to take it up. This is the story of two people’s search for their mother. This story is totally different from his earlier two films, Chithiram Pesudhadi and Anjadhe. Snigdha who had danced to a number in Anjaadhe, enacts a lonely slum dweller in this movie. She meets a young boy and a mentally challenged man on the way and joins them through their journey. While traveling with them who are in search of their mothers, she realizes the purpose in life.

Music has been scored by the musical maestro Ilayaraja who has made some fabulous compositions especially for the climax as per the director’s special request. He has composed a special symphony for the background as well. Mysskin took efforts to see that some symphony artists were flown in from Hungary to work with maestro Ilayaraja on the symphony.

Produced by K Karunamoorthy and C Arunpandiyan for Ayngaran International, Nandalala has many interesting facts hidden inside. Even before its release, it has already won the critics’ award and the People’s Choice award, in the Norway film festival. Though there was undue delay in release of the film, Mysskin never lost his composure as the delayed release is the worst situation any film maker faces.

Mahesh Muthuswamy has handled the cinematography for this movie as in all of Mysskin's movies. Mysskin’s confidence that the movie will see the light of the day has not gone in vain as Nandalala is all set to hit the screens on 26 November 2010.
