Soundarya-Ashwin reception-A big hit!

All roads led to a star speckled high profile wedding reception of superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya and Ashwin.

Rajini made sure that all his close associates for many years and friends in the industry showed up at the grand function. This included celebs like Chief Minister of Tamilnadu M Karunanidhi, AR Rahman, top directors, actors and actresses.

Soundarya-Ashwin wedding on Friday (Aug 3) was one of the best conducted celebrity marriages in India. The two day function went off with clockwork precision.

The wedding on Friday morning was a fusion of the Tamil and Maharashtrian wedding styles. The traditional wedding in Brahmin Iyer style with priests reciting the ritual in Tamil, Rajinikanth and his relatives spotting saffron colored Maharashtrian turbans, the nine-yard sari the bride and other women in her mother’s side wore

Soundarya was first clad in a green silk sari and later changed into traditional red nine-yard sari for the wedding. For the evening reception she wore a designer wear sari in golden beige. The stage décor was by DC Sekhar and had a touch of old world and contemporary and went with the colour theme of the wedding- gold and green

The caterers for the two day event was the famous Arusuvai Natarajan, who made 26 different items including Karnataka dishes like the famous Bangalore dish BisiBele bath. One of the highlights of the wedding was the catering, as there was plenty of delicious spread fit for a king, and it never ran out. The dining of nearly 15, 000 guests who turned up for the wedding without any hitches.

The media arrangements were fantastic as television; print and internet were treated with equal respect. Remember a few years back when a star denied media entry to his wedding, it created a lot of negative vibes? Rajinikanth saw to it, that coverage of the wedding was accessible to all media persons and the PRO’s connected with the wedding did a superb job.
