Endhiran or Robot is the next celluloid venture of the hazel-eyed Aishwarya Rai and it’s creating all the flutter on the web world. With barely 3 weeks to go before this flick hits theatres, revered actor Rajnikant is risking some big lines hailing the film as the next Sholay.
‘Robot’ is a high-on-technique science-fiction and has Rs 160 crores riding on it, the biggest Indian cinema ever in terms of financial splurge. Rajni Sir, who plays the lead protagonist in the film cites, “Around Rs.160 crore has been invested to make the film. It’s fantastic; technical excellence is there. ‘Sholay’ made history not because of the money or budget involved, not because it was a multi-starrer, not because of the technicalities, but because of its subject. The way Salim-Javed had written it, the way Ramesh Sippy directed the film, the way human emotions were created, the character Veeru, Jay, Basanti…”
So, will it really be another Sholay, the ultimate cult classic? The points in its favour are:
