A R Rahman rules the charts with Enthiran music

A R Rahman and his Enthiran music has not only become popular worldwide, but is ruling the Tamil Nadu domestic music charts. In the Mirchi Top 10 countdown for the week ending August 14, four out of the 10 songs are from the Rajinikanth sci-fi film!
Kilimanjaro… is on top of the charts, and three other Enthiran songs are in fourth, fifth and sixth positions on the Mirchi Top 10.
Think Music, who is distributing the album, says the CD sales of the album have crossed the magic figure of Rs 3 lakhs, which no other album has done in the recent years.
It is phenomenal by any yardstick, and perhaps Rahman’s best ever performance of the decade. Shankar and AR Rahman combo surely rocks once again.
The fans are also emotional about the album because they feel Rahman has no live projects in Tamil after Enthiran.
The Mozart of Madras had three albums released in 2010 - VTV, Raavanan and now Enthiran. Currently, Rahman is working on three Hindi films, besides his many Hollywood commitments.
He has not signed any new films in Tamil and his regulars like Shankar have gone to Harris Jayaraj to do his 3 Idiots remake.
Meanwhile, as Enthiran lords over the charts, Yuvan Shankar Raja (Paiyaa, Baana Kathadi, Naan Mahaan Alla) and GV Prakash’s (Madrasapattinam) lucky streak seem to have come to an end as the Mozart of Madras rules.
