He recalled a recent trip to Canada on vacation where he stayed at a friend's house.
The friend has a Marwari neighbor whom Rajni, 60, had last met many years ago. When he learnt that Rajni was visiting, the neighbor dropped by to meet the south super star.
As soon as he set his eyes upon Rajni, the elderly Marwari bluntly told him:
"Rajni, your hair is all gone, and you look old! It seems you are now enjoying your retired life."

Rajni sheepishly told him that he hadn't retired and was presently shooting for a film called Robot.
The Marwari looked at Rajni in utter shock!
"Who is the heroine of the film?" he asked.
"Aishwarya Rai," Rajni replied.
Even more shocked, the neighbor wondered out loud.
"She is so young! Is she mad to be working with you?"
The two talked some more and then the neighbor left.
As he walked out of the gate, Rajni heard him tell his son:
"Aishwarya has gone mad, but what happened to Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan? Have they gone made too to allow this?"
After the laughter in the audience subsided, Rajni, showing exceptional humility, thanked Aishwarya for acting opposite him!
Earlier, he had recalled how Shankar had offered the film first to Kamal Hassan and then Shah Rukh Khan, finally opting for him when things didn't work out with the other stars.
"Daane daane pe likha hai khaane wale ka naam," Rajni quipped to a big round of applause.
